Testing Revolution Reloaded Palette

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Today is October 3rd so for some if you’re a Mean Girls fan this is where the famous quote came from.

Seeing as another Mean Girls quote is ‘ On Wednesdays We Wear Pink ‘ I thought it would be a perfect day to test out a pink palette, inspired by this day.

I am using the Revolution Re-Loaded Palette in Newtrals 2 Which you can find at Superdrug online and in-store & online at Tams Beauty.

Photo sourced from Revolutionbeauty.com

This look is a Simple Smokey Pink & Red With A Soft Pink Cut Crease. It’s super simple to do & I can do a tutorial if someone requests it.

How Good Was The Price? Affordable?

First of all the main reason I picked up this palette was due to it being only £4! You get 15 high quality and very large sized eyeshadows, so not only is it super affordable it’s also good value for money.

How Pigmented Were The Shadows?

Revolution is very well known for its quality of product even though it has a small price tag. This product definitely lived up to my expectations, the shades aren’t chalky and they blend beautifully. The glitter shades work well on their own but ten times better with a bit of setting spray on the brush, they transform to a solid pigment.

Shade Range?

As I said before with the 15 eyeshadows you get, the palette is a super versatile one. You have a decent number of transition shades, a white which is key to set a cut crease & deeper colours to create a smokier eye. The colours allow you to create multiple looks and are super autumnal, so perfect for this time of year. The glitters also work so well with the shade range and compliment most looks.

Would You Recommend?

Without a doubt. You can’t go wrong with this palette, it’s super versatile working as a day and night palette and it’s only £4! They do a couple of others from the same sort of style that are the same price, I’m going to be sure to check them out.

Rating: 5/5

The only thing I would have wished for with this product would have been a black/deeper brown in order to really deepen the look.

Last Minute Halloween Makeup Ideas

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Today I am going to be talking through a last minute, simple Halloween makeup look. You really don’t need a lot of skill in order to do this look, mine didn’t turn out as I wanted but it wasn’t awful.

The Things You’ll Need:

  • Foundation
  • Liquid latex
  • Tissue
  • Red lipstick
  • Eyeliner
  • Fakeblood

How To Achieve The Look:

  1. The first thing you should do is prime your face and create your usual base e.g foundation/powder. This is so when you cover the tissue in foundation it matches your skin.
  2. Next mark out on your face where you want the “ scratches ” to be and what size.
  3. Shred some tissue to the size of your desired “ scratch ” and apply a layer of liquid latex on your skin where you want them to be.
  4. Add the tissue to the face, building up with different layers of tissue and liquid latex to harden it as you go.
  5. Once you have achieved the size/level of “ scratch ” you wanted and it is dry, cover with foundation until it blends in with your skin.
  6. Cut down the middle of the “ scratch ” to make a deeper looking gash and fill with dark red lipstick/eyeshadow.
  7. Add some black liquid eyeliner into the edges/outlines of your gash to make it appear deeper in the skin.
  8. Finally add the fake blood, making sure it doesn’t run too far out of the cut as it won’t look as realistic.

Final look:

I then went on to add some lashes and lipstick to complete the look and make it seem more glam.

Thank you for reading! I hope this helped you achieve the look you wanted, it’s only simple but it’s still effective when you don’t have a lot of effort towards costume!

Fake Tanning Routine

beauty, Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Winter is around the corner, so I thought I would share a routine that I hope you’ll find super handy in the up and coming months! I am a very pale person naturally that’s why I enjoy having some colour on me, so fake tan is an easy and quick way to do this.

I am going to be talking through my favourite fake tanning products and the routine in which I use them to make sure it looks the best as I possibly can.

Prepping my skin, I usually use the Sanctuary Body Moisture Spray. When getting out the shower, with wet skin I apply this spray all over my body and wait for it to set in. This fine mist moisturises my body the best it possibly can and the oily formula allows an even tan as it reduces the dryness in my skin. I use this product to maintain my tan and it helps the product stay on for longer.

bonsi sands Self Tanning Foam In Dark

Choosing a tanning product is the most important part of the process. I have tried my fair share of foam, sprays and moisturisers and I have finally come to the conclusion of my favourite. I have been using bonsi sands, self tanning foam in the shade Dark for a while now and it’s safe to say it is the best for me. The formula and colour seems to suit my skin the best, I usually apply 2-3 layers of the product and sleep in it overnight. This builds up the right amount of coverage and colour for me. When washing it off in the morning I very lightly hold the shower head over me, removing the base colour and not the colour I have created with the layers.

The mit I use depends on what I have, I’m away at the moment so I have a ST. Tropez mitt. The mitt is very important, if it is too rough then the product will just rub away from the skin when you apply more layers.

Thank you for reading! If you see this, I’d love to know what your favourite fake tans are!

SOPH X MAKEUP REVOLUTION HIGHLIGHT PALETTE worth the hype?

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

This post is something very exciting for me! If you watch YouTube, you must have heard of Sophdoesnails ( If you haven’t I’ve linked her channel for you to check out, you won’t be disappointed ). Recently she has released a collaboration with Revolution, an affordable brand that features in Superdrug and Tam’s Beauty.

I absolutely love Sophie’s channel, she is all about making sure everyone can afford the products she used and this collaboration was one that all of her subscribers could hopefully afford.

The links for her releases are :

Highlight Palette

I was lucky enough to pick up the Highlighting palette and I am in love. First impressions, the rose gold and cream packaging compliment each other beautifully ( I’m sure everyone agrees ) and the material itself feels very high quality.

The palette includes 8 individual shades, 5 baked and 3 pressed. For the price of £8 this is amazing value, especially when it means you can create 8 different looks with just one palette. I feel as if there is a shade that suits every skin tone, even very pale people that find highligh washes them out.

The formula of both the baked and pressed is amazing, super rich and almost creamy feeling. The pigmentation did not fail to impress, every colour was strong from one swatch. One of the best things about this palette is the fact that it is super buildable, you can have a subtle look or build them up and intensify the glow, it’s so versatile!

Verdict? Do you even need to ask! I 100% recommend this palette, the value and quality of the product demonstrates Sophie’s hard work and allows her subscribers to have amazing products that she loves, without breaking the bank!

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you have this palette or are looking at buying it!

Favourite Skincare Products

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Today I am going to be talking through my favourite skin care products. Since it is getting colder and winter is coming, I’ve had to switch it up a little so that my skin stays like normal. All the links will be below for you guys to get some stuff yourself! Enjoy x

Just to start off, my skin is usually normal/dry and not very spot prone. When I do occasionally get spots they are massive, so I do need to make sure I have the right stuff to treat them.

Firstly my favourite face wash/mask is the Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1. I find this calms my skin down and makes it feel a lot cleaner after. It also feels super moisturising when I put it on, sinking into my skin and helping reduce it. Highly recommend this product as a daily wash.

Another favourite is the Clean&Clear Deep Cleaning Lotion. This is aimed at sensitive skin and that’s especially important for me, however the liquid is very strong. It doesn’t irritate me, but you can definitely feel it doing its work. It cleanses and helps prevent spots.

My favourite scrub is definitely L’Oréal Pure Clay Glow Scrub. This is a newer range from the brand, including face masks and scrubs. The one I have chosen is the glow scrub: this helps to brighten and cleanse the face, making it appear fresher. I love the Clay formula, its rich and creamy on the face and feels cooling.

I use a Simple moisturiser, something that doesn’t have a lot of ingredients and so that it doesn’t strip my skin.

Finally my absolute godsend, The Body Shop®  Tea Tree Oil. This is the best thing for spots and you need it! You can mix it into your moisturiser or even just apply it straight to the spot. In the morning the spots have gone down or even gone completely, honestly if you learn anything from this post it’s that you need this in your life.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed. I would love to know what your favourite products are!

Revolution Makeup First Impressions

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Today’s post is going to be about a selection of new and popular Revolution Makeup. Firstly, I have to commend the amazing customer service team from the creators of the brand Tams Beauty. I approached them with a query I had and they very kindly offered to send me some of their new and popular products. From the way they handled my query and the fast paced replies, to the overwhelming amount of products I received from them, I haven’t a bad word to say about the company and I can not thank them enough for their generosity. I also received a lot of their brushes that I will go on to test in a further post.  All my opinions included in this post are honest, as this post is not sponsored in any way.

Firstly, I am going to start with the base, I have already applied my foundation and done my eyebrows because I did not have Revolution products like this. The package they sent to me included the Luxury Banana Powder which I’ve been wanting to try out for as long as I can think of. I use the powder in order to ‘bake’ under my eyes and set my concealer- it was so effective! It set my undereyes as well as brightening them without making my face appear cakey. The next product I used was the HD Pro Sculpt and Contour palette, which I used to contour and set the rest of my face. This product is raved about by all the youtubers I watch, so I was excited to receive this and it certainly met my expectations. The bronzing and contour shades were so pigmented, they glided on my skin so nicely and the shade range was amazing.

Next on to the eyes, I used the Flawless 3 Resurrection palette. Again, I was so excited to receive this – it is meant to be a great dupe  for The Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette. I am going to go into further details on this palette in a different post, but it has a  perfect range of every day shades including mattes and shimmers. They are super easy to blend and build up as much as you’d like. The packaging is beautiful -it has a rose gold shell and has a full size mirror that is so handy to travel with.

Lastly, I tried the Retro Luxe matte lip kit in the shade  Noble. This kit comes with a liner and matte liquid lipstick. It’s a more browny nude and is what I have been looking for forever. It’s long lasting and wearable, but the only criticism I have is that the liner is too orangey for the lipstick. Once you blend the liner out more, it’s less visible.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post, Revolution is such an amazing brand and you need to try it out! What Revolution products have you tried?
