Testing Revolution Reloaded Palette

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Today is October 3rd so for some if you’re a Mean Girls fan this is where the famous quote came from.

Photo sourced from Google

Seeing as another Mean Girls quote is ‘ On Wednesdays We Wear Pink ‘ I thought it would be a perfect day to test out a pink palette, inspired by this day.

I am using the Revolution Re-Loaded Palette in Newtrals 2 Which you can find at Superdrug online and in-store & online at Tams Beauty.

Photo sourced from Revolutionbeauty.com

This look is a Simple Smokey Pink & Red With A Soft Pink Cut Crease. It’s super simple to do & I can do a tutorial if someone requests it.

How Good Was The Price? Affordable?

First of all the main reason I picked up this palette was due to it being only £4! You get 15 high quality and very large sized eyeshadows, so not only is it super affordable it’s also good value for money.

How Pigmented Were The Shadows?

Revolution is very well known for its quality of product even though it has a small price tag. This product definitely lived up to my expectations, the shades aren’t chalky and they blend beautifully. The glitter shades work well on their own but ten times better with a bit of setting spray on the brush, they transform to a solid pigment.

Shade Range?

As I said before with the 15 eyeshadows you get, the palette is a super versatile one. You have a decent number of transition shades, a white which is key to set a cut crease & deeper colours to create a smokier eye. The colours allow you to create multiple looks and are super autumnal, so perfect for this time of year. The glitters also work so well with the shade range and compliment most looks.

Would You Recommend?

Without a doubt. You can’t go wrong with this palette, it’s super versatile working as a day and night palette and it’s only £4! They do a couple of others from the same sort of style that are the same price, I’m going to be sure to check them out.

Rating: 5/5

The only thing I would have wished for with this product would have been a black/deeper brown in order to really deepen the look.

Met Gala 2018: Heavenly Bodies, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

As you should know if you’re a fashion fan, The Annual Met Gala took place in New York, Monday evening. One of the biggest fashion events of the year, fundraising and marking the annual opening for, The Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institution.

I thought it would be quite interesting to look at the designers takes on this years theme ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ & how the celebrities wore them. Most of the decor and table settings also being inspired by monastery theme.

Ranking my favourite 8 looks of 2018, keep reading to see which ones were my idea of best dressed. Let me know, what you thought of the celebrity looks and who your favourite designers of this year were.

1) Blake Lively

Hands down my favourite look from the Gala, so elegant and such a bold statement. Blake wears an embellished, satin ruby Versace dress paired with Christian Louboutin heels.

2) Ariana Grande

This happened to be the Singer’s first Met Gala and she definitely set high expectations for next year. She wore a Vera Wang Gown inspired by ‘ Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgement” painting in the Sistine Chapel ‘. I absolutely loved this look, she wore her classic sleeked back pony tail and paired the look with a draping veil.

3) Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Closely followed by Rosie H-W in this beaded, cream caped gown designed by Ralph Lauren. The neutral and golden tones of her dress and halo effect headband, seamlessly complemented her hair and skin tone to give her a ‘goddess’ effect.

4) Jasmine Sanders

Putting all of these stunning looks in order of my favourite is become difficult, Jasmine wore a stunning high-street H&M ‘ liquid gold ‘ styled Bardot dress with a long train & glowing skin. She is known as a ‘ Golden Barbie ‘ and definitely portrayed this with her look. The major reason why she is one of my favourite is down to details & beautiful plaited hair, accessorised with real roses.

5) Gigi Hadid

Another amazing Versace piece from Monday night, Wearing a sheer embellished dress inspired by butterfly wings & stained glass windows. Both the Hadid sisters are known for their major on theme outfits and they didn’t hold back this year, although I wasn’t really a fan of Bella’s dress personally.

6) Winnie Harlow

This was also America’s First Top Model Winnie Harlow’s first Met Gala, & she look incredible. I’ve read mixed reviews about her look, but I’m definitely a fan. Winnie wears a White Silk, Corset Detailed Tommy Hilfiger dress. Her headdress definitely made a statement, but I am a massive fan of her and am all for it.

7) Selena Gomez

I can’t decide whether I love Selena’s dress or not, but she definitely looks amazing. The singer wore a vintage, sheer slip gown designed by Coach. Some are criticising her subtle attempt on the look, but small details of her favourite bible verse ‘A woman who fears the lord is a woman who shall be praised ‘ is printed in her handwriting on her bag & a ribbon running through her dress.

8) Kylie Jenner & Travis Scott

This is definitely a bias opinion because I am such a fan of these two together, but their post Stormi come back was incredible. Both Kylie and Travis wore matching Alexander Wang black, sleek & ‘edgy’ looks to the Met. They both complimented each other so well.

So, what was your favourite look? I absolutely loved writing this post and having a look at what I thought was the best,

March Favourites

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

How are we already in April? Seems like yesterday it was the start of the year. Anyway, today is about the month of March and all it’s best bits. It’s been such a busy month, I’ve hardly even noticed time go by. March has brought new products into my life and brought back the preloved ones, from being hidden away in my draws.

I have two sides of me when it comes to outfits, the wakes up virtually when I have to leave for school and throw on what I can find side. Or the side that plans my outfits to make sure they’re how I want them to be. I’m quite price affected when it comes to fashion, (which I absolutely hate) meaning no matter how much I like something if it’s expensive it’s going back on the rail. Baring this in mind I have an unhealthy addiction to online shopping.

My number one site at the moment being Boohoo. Now, Boohoo is known for being a lower priced retailer that stocks a similar range of products that shops like Missguided or Pretty Little thing, just for less. I paid for a year of next day delivery, so I have no excuse when I like something. The website is easy to navigate, however I would love to see them style their products a little bit better or with the items you can buy, sometimes they dress the models in and extra that isn’t their product. An example of one outfit I have made from their products is listed below:

For reference I wear a size 8 in both.

In regards to what I have been reaching for, keeping my skin healthy throughout the harsh weather is primarily facemasks. In the month of March, two have caught my eye, both new purchases. L’Oréal Pure Clay masks have been a repeat contender in my night routines. The glow mask targets dull areas of my skin and works as an exfoliant to create a fresher looking appearance. Whereas, the purity mask works to clear the skin of all toxins and reduce shine or oil if you’re prone to this. Both of them work a dream, I use them in a multi-mask way, so they can tackle the parts of my skin that they need to!

T-zone being my second go to. This charcoal peel off mask, as nicely as I can put it rips out most blackheads in the skin. I use this to target my nose and chin, where I struggle the most with them. Pain scale being 10/10 but also being so worth it, you’ll thank yourself after the tears. Beauty is pain.

L’Oréal’s mask’s are the cheapest in Superdrug with £2 off if you buy now:

The items that I have included here are from my day to day makeup bag. If I’m going to be honest I haven’t splurged on new makeup in a while, so whilst sorting out my draws I have created a new everyday face using my preloved products.

Starting with the most important Brows! Now, finding the best pomade for your brows is difficult. I absolutely love Anastasia Dip Brow, but it’s not an exact colour match for me. So I decided to test the High-street alternatives, which is where I came across the dupe Freedom Brow Pomade. I have fallen in love, it’s a perfect match for my brow hair and stays on all day. However, the only thing I would say is that it is quite drying and messy, but if you can work with it it’s amazing!

Back to the basics of an everyday face, mostly for school or work when I need to be slightly acceptable looking. I grab my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, to carve out my brows and to wake up my under eyes. Followed with my Benefit Ready, Set Brow (can’t live without). After curling my lashes, I use the Wonder’fully Real Rimmel Mascara to wake up my eyes. Finally, grabbing a Revolution Strobe Highlight and my old school Benefit Hoola Bronzer to make me feel a little more alive.

Lastly, my favourite one yet. I absolutely love getting new perfumes and restocking on old ones, only if they’re worth it. My favourites this month are Gucci In Bloom and Paco Rabanne Olympia. Both highly compliment each other, with similar Sweet floral scents. They are heavy scents that smell somewhat “sophisticated”, Olympia has a ‘salty vanilla’ undertone that creates the deepness of the fragrance, that i’m sadly running out of. Both making perfect gifts.

Thank you for reading, I can’t wait to see how April changes my tastes and whether I pick up some new products that I love.

March Glossybox Review: Hit Or Miss?

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Today I will be reviewing the March GlossyBox Subscription! ( Hint hint it’s a gooden ) this months box was inspired by spring cleaning your makeup and skincare collection.

You can purchase your subscription here on their website : GlossyBox

Inside The Little Pink Box:

Skincare Essentials

The first item I’m going to talk about was my favourite from the box, Figs & Rouge Soft Focus Pore Perfect HD + Matte Veil This does exactly what it does in the name, it’s a serum that reduces the look of pores & creates a sheer complexion either as a base for your makeup or just as a daily skincare essential. This product retails at £35, so I was super excited to be able to try this out!

Another skin care product I received was, The Mudmasky Sleep Repair Renewal Nourishing Mask. This mask definitely has a big reputation, due to its major price tag. Retailing at £61. I used it overnight, applying a thin layer before I slept and my skin was definitely nourished. However, I don’t feel like it’s worth the price, in my personal opinion I feel as if the product broke out my face and gave me spots ( I don’t usually get any acne ) but then again my skin is quite sensitive, so it may be down to this.

The last skincare item I received this month was The Meg Good Evening Pm Sheet Mask. This mask is perfect to use after a night out, makes your skin rejuvenated & refreshed. Helping to pull out all the toxins in your face due to the high amount of vitamins it has. Will definitely be repurchasing! This product retails at £4.50.

Makeup Items

The next items in my March box were makeup related, The first being an Oryza Beauty Lipstick. This immediately stood out to me as I opened the box, the colour is beautiful and it has a ” weightless, satin & velvet finish “. The formula was a major instant appeal to me, feeling nourishing with the Shea butter ingredient. However, when I tried on the colour it wasn’t really for me, would definitely suit a slightly darker skin tone! This product retails at £15.95.

The last item I received in my GlossyBox was the Universal Beauty Secret flush. This is a Cream Blusher & Lip Stain Duo, in the colour 04 Nectar. I’m going to be completely honest and say I wasn’t really a fan of this product what so ever. This is completely down to personal preference and not loving Blush or Stained lips. Don’t get me wrong the product 100% would look lovely on people who like this look, but the glittery and pink vibes it gave me put me off straight away. This reminds me a lot of the Topshop Cream Blush if you’re looking for a similar alternative! This product retails at £14.50.

Overall Rating

Drum Roll…

3.75 Stars

Overall, I’ve got to say I did really enjoy using most of the skin care and incorporating them into my routine, but the makeup side of this was really a major let down for me personally.

Thanks for reading, Hope you enjoyed what I had to say!

Sunset Eyes Festival EyeShadow Look: Step By Step

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I last wrote to you guys! Some things you get really into and then suddenly loose all motivation to do, even though you loved them. My blog is something I’m very proud of, but recently I haven’t been happy with the content or had time to post it. I need to set goals of writing in it more!

On with the makeup look, I chose to do a festival/holiday styled look today. The ombré of red to orange to yellow represents the sunset.

Step By Step Guide:

  1. Apply shadow base/primer and set with translucent powder.
  2. Pick a transition colour, for example I chose a beige/orange toned matte.
  3. Chose a deeper and darker orange colour, blend into the crease. Building up as you go on.
  4. Keep adding deeper orange toned shadows into the crease and around the lid.
  5. Once you have built up the colour you want, take a red shadow and begin to blend into the crease. Making sure you don’t remove the orange colour from across the lid too.
  6. Focus on the outer corner with the red, deepening as you go on making an ombré effect.
  7. Once happy with the transition from red to orange, take a conclear and carve out the inner corner of your crease.
  8. Set the concealer with a yellow shadow/pigment. Blend the yellow out slightly to again exaggerate the ombré.
  9. To finish add your favourite lashes and highlight under the brow bone and inner corner.

Glam Cut Crease: Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Firstly Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here and if I’m honest I’ve just been super busy! So much so I forgot how much I enjoy writing even the smallest posts. Today I am going to be giving you some Inspiration and showing you a more Glam Makeup Look that I created the other day, just in time for the new year!

This look is majorly based on my favourite palette at the moment, Huda Beauty Desert Dusk. I’ve chosen to do a softer cut crease, with deeper pink and red matte shades.

The transition shades I used were yellow based in order to create a warmer rather than harsh look. After I cut the crease with my Collection Lasting Perfection Conceler I covered the lid in a pink/champagne colour in order to brighten the look up.

I then took Collection Glam Crystals Gel Liner in Glitz 1 in order to carve out my crease. The glitter adds so much to the look even if it isn’t a large amount, it’s a must have in the party season.

To finish off my look I grabbed a pair of my favourite Ardell Demi Wispies lashes paired with the trusty Duo Lash Glue and I was good to go. If you’re a fan of lashes you absolutely need to try these lashes. They are super full, have loads of volume and work so well with the glue so they stay in place all night (Some mornings they are still in place, very bad habit)

November GlossyBox Review: Worth The Hype?

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

I apologise for my disappearance, but it comes with good news! I have been focusing on applying for courses for next year when I leave sixthform. I had an interview for an Academy in London and I’m so excited to say I got accepted! I’ll do a follow up post on what I am doing soon!

On with the review! I recently subscribed to Glossy Box and have already received two of their boxes which I loved, so I decided to show you guys what I get in them!

You can subscribe here : GlossyBox

If you use the code  NOVEMBER8 This enables you to purchase your first box for just £8.

The first product in the box I found was the Greenfrog Botanic Natural Bodywash, Glossybox did an article on it which I have linked. This products retails at £8.95, but this is the (Very decent sized 100ml) travel sized. One major reason I loved this was because the companies natural products contain organic ingredients, are sustainably sourced, cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. The body wash is Geranium & Peppermint scent and is extremely calming and norising for dry skin!

The next product is the Beauty UK Cosmetics Contour/Powder Brush. Retailing at £6.99 I was super excited about this brush. I’ve not tried Beauty UK before, but heard a lot about it. The brush is super dense and soft, so allowing you to buff in the product easily and it feels such high quality.

I also received Sport FX Candy Floss Moisturising Lip Balm, retailing at £4.99. This lip balm is super moisturising and smells amazing. I’m not a fan of pink/tinted lip balms and I was a little sceptical when I received it, however it’s super sheer and barely leaves any colour so I can wear it.

One disappointing product for me was the Collection Define And Perfect Eyebrow Powder In Dark Brunette, retailing at £4.19. The reason this was a let down was due to it being way too dark for me, it was more grey than ashy/dark and therefore I couldn’t use it! Such a let down because I’ve heard so many good things in regard to its formula.

The last product was Boots Charcoal And Willow Bark Sheet Mask, retailing at £2.50. This mask is a life saver, something so cheap but effective. It left my skin feeling super clean, fresh and nourished as it helps to cleanse and purify. It did sting for a little bit, but didn’t leave any rash! Sheet masks are super easy to use and with this one you just rub in the excess serum after removing. Definitely will be repurchasing this.

Overall rating 6/10 – Super impressed with the brush and sizes of products but the simplicity of them let me down a little.

Thank you for reading, let me know what you thought for the box! See you next week!

Last Minute Halloween Makeup Ideas

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Today I am going to be talking through a last minute, simple Halloween makeup look. You really don’t need a lot of skill in order to do this look, mine didn’t turn out as I wanted but it wasn’t awful.

The Things You’ll Need:

  • Foundation
  • Liquid latex
  • Tissue
  • Red lipstick
  • Eyeliner
  • Fakeblood

How To Achieve The Look:

  1. The first thing you should do is prime your face and create your usual base e.g foundation/powder. This is so when you cover the tissue in foundation it matches your skin.
  2. Next mark out on your face where you want the “ scratches ” to be and what size.
  3. Shred some tissue to the size of your desired “ scratch ” and apply a layer of liquid latex on your skin where you want them to be.
  4. Add the tissue to the face, building up with different layers of tissue and liquid latex to harden it as you go.
  5. Once you have achieved the size/level of “ scratch ” you wanted and it is dry, cover with foundation until it blends in with your skin.
  6. Cut down the middle of the “ scratch ” to make a deeper looking gash and fill with dark red lipstick/eyeshadow.
  7. Add some black liquid eyeliner into the edges/outlines of your gash to make it appear deeper in the skin.
  8. Finally add the fake blood, making sure it doesn’t run too far out of the cut as it won’t look as realistic.

Final look:

I then went on to add some lashes and lipstick to complete the look and make it seem more glam.

Thank you for reading! I hope this helped you achieve the look you wanted, it’s only simple but it’s still effective when you don’t have a lot of effort towards costume!

Turning 18 + Birthday Haul

Lifestyle and Beauty

Welcome back to my blog,

Firstly I want to apologise for this not being my usual Monday post, but I’m sure you can forgive me because I had a busy birthday weekend!

Starting off with a couple of days prior to my birthday I passed my driving test. This was such an amazing present to myself because I have been driving for a while now and have been practising non stop for it, so it meant a lot.

In regards to what I did for my actual birthday which was Saturday 21st October, I finally took the plunge and got my hair cut. For anyone else this doesn’t seem very drastic, as it was only a trim, but I never get my hair cut and even the trim made it feel so much healthier and thicker.

Before + After

I spend the rest of my day opening presents and getting ready for a big meal with most of my family and going out for drinks with a few of my friends afterwards.

OOTD + Makeup Look

Burnt Orange And Copper Glitter Look

To create my eye look I used

Red Tie Waist Bodycon Dress

The dress I wore was a Little Red Number from Missguided, I knew wanted a red dress and ended up buying 13 before I found the right one! This dress is super affordable and the material is figure hugging which I wanted (not so fun after a massive meal and drinks)

Chocolate Birthday Cake Made By My Cousin

What I Got For My Birthday

Moving on to some of my favourite presents I got, i’m extremely grateful for everything I received and the people around me on my birthday.

One thing that I can’t take a photo of that I revieved was a professional lighting system and photo background stand, I was so excited to be able to use this for the rest of my photos, hopefully you can notice the change in quality.
